Speech Pathology
This clinic provides outpatient and inpatient diagnostic and therapeutic services for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Diagnostic categories include the following:
- Cleft palate and other congenital structural deviations
- Abnormal speech
- Language and swallow development in children
- Voice disorders
- Acquired speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders (e.g., traumatice brain injury, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, laryngectomy, and glossectomy) and stuttering
Populations served range from infant to geriatric. Specialized services include:
- Modified barium swallow study
- Fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing
- Biofeedback for voice and swallowing disorders
- Swallowing therapy for head and neck cancer patients and laryngectomy rehabilitation
